Aluminium oxide
A good high performance mineral that is sharp, hard and tough, Aluminium oxide is a versatile mineral that works well under high heat and grinding pressure applications but can also be effective on many materials at lower grinding pressure levels.

Silicon Carbide
Silicon carbide is a hard mineral that is well suited to working on hard metals like cobalt, titanium and high nickel alloys. Its sharp, slender crystalline structure can generate less heat and a bright finish. Available in all sizes and Grit numbers.

Flap discs are made with premium Zircon Aluminium Oxide and Silcon Carbide grain for fast stock removal. They have a long life and stay sharp for 10-15 times longer than conventional fiber discs. They provide cooler grinding and finishing in one step. They have a low noise level and lightweight design. No back up pad is required for use on portable disc grinders and sanders. Very little surface pressure is needed. They are easy to use and cost

Flap Wheels - A flap wheel is an abrasive wheel made from abrasive strips (flaps) radiating from a center hub. Flap wheels come in many different shapes and sizes. The outside diameter of the wheel can range form 4" to 24" and sometimes larger. The hub helps hold the flaps together at the periphery and defines the arbor of the wheel at its center. There are various methods used in holding these flaps to the hub, probably the most common is a glue/adhesive that bonds the flaps together as well as to the hub. There are two basic components to a flap wheel: the hub of the wheel, and the abrasive used in the wheel.
